Verbascum chaixii ‘Album’

A stunning  verbascum, producing many elegant spires of white flowers with contrasting rich purple centres, throughout summer. Bees love them.

A hardy perennial which grows easily in any well-drained soil and can also be grown in a large container. Perfect towards the back of a sunny border, where it will produce more flowers each year.  The basal rosettes of leaves hug the ground at the base of the plant helping to suppress weeds.

Drought tolerant.  Slug and deer resistant.  Look out for caterpillars of the Mullen moth in April and May and remove.

H up to 1m/3ft.   Deadhead to prolong flowering.  Grow in poor, well drained soil preferably alkaline.
