Sweet Potato

Grow your own delicious, nutritious sweet potatoes.

The attractive heart shaped foliage is also edible and perfect for salads but can be steamed as a vegetable too.

Plant out after the last frost, usually mid May, in a warm sunny position and provide support for this climbing vine.  They can also be grown in a large container, in the greenhouse or conservatory as they are a tropical plant

You can take cuttings of the vine in summer by rooting in water then planting up and keeping inside as a houseplant, ready to plant out the following spring.

Harvest in autumn before a frost and leave in a sunny place for a week or so to cure.

Supplied as 3 rooted plants in 7 cm pots.  Dispatch is April/May 2026.
