Peony – Paeonia lactiflora ‘Festiva Maxima’

Large white ruffled blooms, sometimes with a touch of deep pink, above dark green foliage.  These heavily scented flowers are so beautiful, from the moment the large round buds form.  Then, over many days, layer upon layer of white petals unfold in June and July.  The flowers hold up well even in rain and wind.  Stunning cut flowers.  Fully hardy.   Dies back in the winter but will form a larger clump each spring when it emerges. Deer and slug resistant.

Sun or part shade in any moist well drained soil.   Plant the top of the tuber just an inch below the soil.  If planted too deeply, they will not flower.  Supplied as a good size fresh tuber with new shoots, ready to plant out. These are much larger than he dried varieties sold in shops.   SORRY.  SOLD OUT.  AVAILABLE FROM SEPTEMBER 2021.
