Flaxseed – Golden Linseed – Linum usitatissimum

Flaxseed or Golden Linseed, is grown for nutrient rich seeds and strong fiberous stems which are used to make rope and linen.

The sky blue flowers are produced in summer on stems up to 3ft tall.

Grow in poor well drained soil.  Deadhead to encourage flowering or leave seeds to fall and they will provide you with more plants each year.

Be careful to avoid root disturbance when planting.
