Chicory – Chichorium intybus

Clear sky blue flowers in abundance on this fast growing herbaceous perennial. Perfect for the back of a border. The fascinating flowers open in sunlight and close in the rain and bloom throughout summer. Flowers and leaves, which are good in winter salads, contain Vitamin A, B6 C and Potassium. The long tap root can be roasted and used as a substitute for coffee. Roots under 2 years old have a slightly caramel flavour. A tonic for the liver.

Full sun in any well drained soil. H5 1-1.5 m H x 0.5 – 1 m S. Supplied in 7 cm pot.  SORRY OUT OF STOCK.
