Aesculus Indica – Indian Horse Chestnut

The beautiful Indian Horse Chestnut tree flowers from a young age, with many large showy white, flushed yellow and pink blooms, which bees love. The large glossy leaves are bronze when young, turning deep green and then to a golden yellow in autumn.

Unlike our native Horse Chestnut, the fruits which form in summer,  are not prickly but smooth and shaped like figs. The green outer casing encloses a rich mahogany conker like seed.

A beautiful specimen tree for a large garden.  The size can be restricted by planting in a large container, so long as it does not dry out.

Easy to grow in any moist, well drained soil, sun or part shade, sheltered or exposed sites.  Fully hardy.

Supplied as a young plant, root wrapped, approximately 30 cm high,  ready to plant out.  They are fast growing and will put on lots of new growth this year.

Supplied freshly lifted and rootball wrapped.  Approx 30cm high.
