Yellow Rattle – Rhinanthus minor

If you want to grow a wildflower meadow or just an area of wildflowers in your garden, this is a must.  It is a parasitic plant which weakens the growth of grass and gives wildflowers a much better chance of establishing.  A hardy annual with attractive yellow flowers from May-July, followed by papery seedpods that rattle when ripe.

Plant in moist, well drained soil in full sun.  Cut grass short and rake out patches before planting.  Planting wildflower plants with established root systems, is much more successful than scattering wild seed.  Yours plants will produce seed which you can collect or leave to self-seed naturally.  Supplied as 5 small plants.
